I think vitamins do play a positive role in a dog's life as they age. One of my friend is a vet technician and she recently recommended this multi-vitamin by Golden Vitamins, http://www.goldenpetsupplies.com/productdetail/vitamins/golden-vitamins-adult-formula/7.aspx I have a Lab that is about 5 years old I was looking for a supplement of some sort for her joints, along with the other general benefits of a multi-vitamin and was happy to have been suggested this. I have seen significant signs of increase movement while around the house and playing outside. I don't think age should play a factor on when to consider giving your dog a vitamin. Hope this helps!
References :
I am sorry you had to give your dog sleep. Insulinoma is an awful illness to cope with. One of my dogs had it for two years. I am sure you did what you thought was best for your beloved pet. Did you contact the Insulinoma group?

Did you try to return the vitamins to the supplier? If the vitamins can be used on well dogs to boost the immune system, I don't see why you can't use them on your healthy dog in small doses. Are you feeding a natural diet of meat, bone and veg., or a manufacturers dried food. I would certainly recommend a natural diet to keep dogs healthy.
References :
no point. If the base diet is high quality, there isn't a need. Just feed a good quality holistic food like Wellness or Innova and you can add in whole foods like sardines, and eggs.
References :
Generally vitamins are not needed much for dogs or people, IF their food is balanced.

Folks who don't eat a balanced diet often need vitamin C and vitamin D in the winter.

Dogs only need specific vitamins as recommended by a vet for a specific condition.

They often give a dog constipation or diarrheaaa.

They won't hurt your dog except for what was mentioned above.
References :
dog vitamins, any benefits?
I recently purchased all these vitamins I heard were good to boost dogs immune system. I bought Azmira mega pet daily, Azmira super C 2000 powder, and Organic Pet Superfood Super Immunity Powder. The reason I bought the was because my girl got sick with what we suspect was insulinoma and I was desperate for something to help her feel better. The vet was still running all this test but unfortunately she started going down hill the past days and I had to put my princess to sleep :( The vitamins just arrived and I"ll like to at least use them with my other little girl since they were pretty pricey. Do vitamins really make a difference on a healthy 3 year old dog? I dont want to use them all at once but maybe supplement a little.
