I’ve always loved animals and I pride myself in knowing anything I can about them. How would I start this business?
Also, if possible, the rough estimate of the start up cost.

Owning and operating a pet day care business requires LOADS of hours.

Remember, most people will be dropping off their precious pets before work and picking them up on the way home. That means you have to be there BEFORE people head off to work as well as AFTER they come home.

12 – 14 hour days are not uncommon.

So what are you giving them and please don’t say nothing. I love my animals a hole lot and think every year on their birthday and christmas they should be spoiled.

I told her to please reconsider getting a pet, and she claims that if i say that it means i don’t love her kids. I do, but i also love animals as well. When her children are 6 and 7, already has had three pets that are now dead you’d think she’d get the picture… One child was throwing a hamster against the wall until it died for example.

theres probably no way you can convince her,but you could try to teach the kids how to be nice to animals,and if they continue and end up torturing them when theyre older,thats a sign of a future serial killer,so you should keep an eye on that,but with young kids they usually dont know any better and need to be taught.

how about a snake?

they make fantastic pets and some species are very easy to care for.
I find reptiles easier to take care of than mammals
They only need feeding once or twice a week (depending on their age/size) and so only poop that often too – there isnt much to clean up after.

i’d recommend corn snakes. They can become very docile and dont mind human contact at all. They are relatively good feeders and dont grow to big at all (4 – 6ft).
They dont need tropical humidities either and are really beautiful little animals.

Easy to care for, interesting, ‘friendly’, beautiful and not so fangy!
i have three corn snakes, and they really are brilliant

Question by theatrechic: My friend and i are starting a pet care service this summer, and we need suggestions!?
yes, i know its january, but we need a head start. we calculated that we need 306$ to get off to a really good start, but we’re only 12 & 13, and its really hard to raise enough money at that age. we have most of it planned out, but we would need transportation from house to house….we could also use any other helpful tips too! thanks for your help!

Meet those with pets.

Offer:
Love for pets
Clean place for pets
Give pets thier Medications IF needed.
Seperate cats from dogs.
Trim cat claws alone.
Have adult help.
Get some senior who loves animals for aid
Market in local paper & at Pet store, Hospital.

Have a large fenced in yard, a heated barn so when the weather is bad, and a big place to store the piles of poop you will accumulate hourly. You could dry it out on a woodstove and then heat the barn with it. Good luck!
