Hi. We see a lot of cute polar bear cubs lately. How tame will they grow up to be? How tame COULD they be?

Yes I know they are essentially wild animals (duh) but when we see the pictures on the news, of the little fluffy guys on baby blankets, with cute lil names like Knut or Snowflake, I often wonder if they would grow up any tamer-er then other wild animals if treated just like a pet. This is a hypothetical question only, Im certainly not gonna run out to get a polar bear cub as a pet !

Yes, they are adorable. When they are full grown, a male will be about 8 to 10 feet tall and weigh 700 to 1500 lbs. I have seen specials on Animal Planet where orphaned cubs are bottle fed and what happens when they get around 6 months old. They are big animals and when you come between their food or try to discipline them. they are strong and bigger than we are. They are wild animals and they want to be a bear.
Have you heard of Doug Seus, the man in Utah who trains and loves Kodiak bears?

This man is the bear whisperer and every once in a while he has a special with Brad Pitt on the animal channel. He works with Brown bears but I wonder if he can get the same experience with a Polar?
