Sampson has been our buddy since 2004. In the winter of 2008, he suffered a severe perineal hernia that required a 00 surgery to repair it. At the time of the surgery, we were told that due to the severity of the hernia that it was likely to reoccur. As predicted, it has reoccurred and he desperately needs more surgery before 2012. Other than the hernia, he is a happy, healthy and active dog who should live to his mid to late teens. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience end his life prematurely. I have also contacted a Corgi rescue in hopes that he could be adopted to a family that is more financially able to care for him. Sam & Bonsai

Sam is still alive and hangin’ around with his hipno eyes. Bonsai, by the other way, didn’t run with the same luck, his birth was the hardest for the mother, even with all those odds against him he was already born and with the cares we all provide him it could be possible that he continue his life without troubles, but one afternoon after his snap he didn’t woke up.

“Three-three,” who left us yesterday

It must have been November 2002 when we found a beat-up kitty huddling in our recycling bin. She had extensive burns and was obviously malnourished. We didn’t think she’d live so gave her the silly name "three-three" (she was our third black cat and mewed in a sweak-squeak that sounded kind of like "three! Three!"). W took her to the vet and gave her a home in padded boxes in an outside shed and as temperatures plummeted she came into our house and our hearts. She was always a bit funny, "neurologically damaged," as the vet told us but she was sweet, especially to small children–she didn’t care having her tail yanked or her hair pulled and was usually the only cat who would come within ten feet of Theo when he started crawling. We came home last night to find her stiff body spread on the basement steps, rigor mortis having set in. While we’ll never know what happened he last moments seemed peaceful. At 10 at night we got out a shovel and her remains sit in our back yard. She was a good kitty who lived a much harder life than she deserved. She’ll be remembered.

Remember, most people will be dropping off their precious pets before work and picking them up on the way home. That means you have to be there BEFORE people head off to work as well as AFTER they come home.
